Task sorted within groups/projects
I set all tasks with a priority when I set them up. So in my focus view tasks are sorted by those priorities. But within a priority, tasks appear simply alphabetical; what I want is those tasks within a priority to be then grouped by project type (alphabetically or even more ideally by a project title ranking of my custom choice), and within that sort, each project task would then be sorted alphabetically.
At the moment I see the only way to accomplish this is to for example label all tasks in the ‘chess’ project with the word chess at the beginning of that task title, so they are then all grouped together alphabetically within a priority. But they are ranked at ‘ch’ in the automatic sorting of all tasks within that priority level, when I may wish to have all my chess tasks ranked above all my ‘car’ project tasks for example. Does this make sense to you and can it be achieved?

Hi. Focus view needs lot more refinement to help us, users. There should be sort option in focus view - based on over due / due (or) priority high / medium / low , that too, grouped within projects (all high priority in one project can appear together)... OR EVEN IN GENERAL, FOCUS VIEW SHOULD BE SORTABLE BY PROJECTS. Thanks

Hi there,
Yes, that makes perfect sense—and thanks so much for explaining it so clearly.
What you’re describing is a layered sorting structure within Focus View: first by priority, then by project (ideally in a custom order you define), and finally by task title. We can definitely see how that would give you a much more meaningful view—especially if you manage a lot of different projects.
Right now, your workaround using prefixes is clever, but we agree that it’s not ideal. We’re actively looking into more flexible sorting and grouping options, and your detailed use case is exactly the kind of insight that helps us shape those decisions. I’ve added your request to our planning discussions.
Thanks again for sharing this—it’s thoughtful feedback like yours that makes the app better for everyone.
