User-defined filters in Informant for MacOS
A game changer feature of Informant for iOS is the possibility to create and apply user-defined filters instead of checking/unchecking each calendar to display.
Why ?
Because when you have your whole life in Informant, you have necessarily various calendars : personal life, couple life, children, specific activities, professional activities, and calendars shared with other people.
And it is really more productive to be able to display with one touch only the children calendars or the professional ones at demand.
My main issue with Informant for MacOS is that this feature doesn’t exist.
You have to check/uncheck each calendar to display or hide.
Most of time, because of this missing feature on Informant for MacOS, I prefer to use Informant for iOS for productivity reason and it is really not relevant to be more productive on my iPhone than on my Mac.
I really think that you should prioritize the implementation of user defined filters in Informant for MacOS, as it is already done in Informant for iOS.
And, in this case, it would be of course great to have these customized filters synchronized with Informant Sync.
For me, it is currently the biggest lack concerning Informant for MacOS.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for this incredibly thoughtful feedback—and for using Informant so deeply in both your personal and professional life.
You’re absolutely right: user-defined calendar filters are a game-changing feature on iOS, and we completely understand why not having that same flexibility on macOS can be frustrating—especially when you’re juggling multiple areas of life and collaboration.
We agree this functionality is essential for a consistent and productive experience across all devices. Syncing custom filters between iOS and macOS via Informant Sync is a fantastic idea, and it’s something we’ve started looking into more closely thanks to feedback just like yours.
We truly appreciate your passion and insight—it helps guide our priorities, and this request is now firmly on our radar for future Mac development.
Thanks again for taking the time to share this so clearly and kindly.
