Modify event search function to use currently selected calendar filter
Currently if I search my calendar for an event with a name that is included in one of my contacts, the search function takes a long, and will first present a long list of birthday events for this contact before presenting any other information.
For example, if I want to search for my last meeting with “Fred”, before Informant shows any events with Fred, it will first present a list of birthdays for Fred which it calculates from Fred’s birthday in my contact database.
So I will get a long list like the following:
Fred’s 1st Birthday
Fred’s 2nd Birthday
Fred’s 3rd Birthday
.
.
.
Fred’s 59th Birthday
Fred’s 60th Birthday
This long list of birthday is not useful at all, and it renders the search function unusable to me because it takes too long to process, and it fills up my screen with meaningless information.
It would make much more sense for the search function to use the currently selected calendar filter so I can screen out this information.

Hi there,
Thank you for the clear and detailed feedback—this is such a valuable insight.
You’re absolutely right: when you're searching for something specific like your last meeting with “Fred,” having to scroll past decades of birthday events pulled from contact data is not only unhelpful—it makes the search function feel broken.
We completely agree that using your current calendar filter to limit search results would be a huge improvement. It would keep things relevant, reduce clutter, and get you to the information you actually need much faster.
We’re reviewing how we can better prioritize and filter search results, and this specific example is incredibly helpful in shaping that effort. Really appreciate you taking the time to share it.
